The Initial ideas were created to suit any HTML + CSS environment. In the later stages the same was ported onto Wordpress as a Theme for easy maintenance and upgrades.

The product pages are configured as pages within Wordpress CMS structure. Posts related to a particular product and categorized as a particular product will appear within a product page as well.

The Homepage is created and themed in a way to draw out content from 2 pages hidden within the Wordpress structure. Latest News and Blog Posts can also be accessed directly from the Homepage.

Although this system has some limitation with the number of Items the navigation bar can hold, it still manages to look elegant and attractive reducing navigation clutter on the screen.

Working with Wordpress

The site uses the Page structure within Wordpress to associate to different sections and products. The pages and sub-pages structure has been used extensively to create the depths within the website. The user has an option to upload a single banner image for every page. They also have options to upload 5 special images per page along with images in line text. This has been done to accommodate any need to have special flowcharts.

The post structure can be categorized to appear within a page as well. Related posts to a product can be made to pop up on the product’s page itself. The post structure also supports the News and Blog sections of the website. View the gallery to get a basic idea.

Each inside page has a specific image and animation attached to it to appear as a header and footer. A right side floating menu provides the navigation.

The website

The final website is a result of very creative thinking coming from Goblin and us trying to blend that into very straight forwards and rigid CMS structure. From the homepage the website does not look like a wordpress themed site, and that was one of the requirements.

Easy updates and inclusion of videos were the next requirement. Youtube was the chosen platform for videos and there were to be embedded within each post for viewing. Goblin is yet to fill all the dat on to their website.

Workings

Buddibot is a subscribed service which enables a user to talk to their near and dear ones through the Rovio. It’s just like talking on Skype or any other VOIP protocol, except in this case you can drive the camera to your near and dear ones and then start a conversation. Rovio does not need to be plugged in all the time and works through Wifi signals available within the house. To function properly, the Rovio does need a full time internet connection and a Wifi router.

The website allows the user to store photos, store music and create playlists of music and podcasts that can be played back over the Rovio. The Rovio also gives out alarms that are stored and set on the Buddibot website. Medical reminders are one of it’s primary usage.

How?

Simple, first we created a static version and got the client’s approval on the whole idea and look and feel. Meanwhile we got them accustomed to Wordpress as well to use it regularly and upload their data. Next step was to create the templates. We created custom templates for each type of information and there were options of what the client would like to show in their sidebar, another text blurb or just an image or something completely different.

Will all these options frozen, a theme was created that would allow them to update and upload their regular feeds easily. View the screen shots in the gallery for details.

Website

This is a simple website where very little complication of Wordpress or Themes involved. Create the pages and the upload them on the server with a Youtube video running within a page to say the rest of the stuff. The Youtube video is provided by Wowwee for Rovio sales and marketing.

Experience Design

The project started with us receiving an already existing prototype for the site prepared to guide the UI designs. Halfway into the project we did realize that the initial prototype was insufficient to handle the complexities of the project. A fresh approach was taken thereafter to create a complete experience. See attached screenshots.

Process

The sequence is a live shot rotoscoped and created manually in vector form. The basketball on fire was added later on a separate layer of 3D. Both the player and the Ball were created based on a live footage.

The website is for buying and selling cellphones online. A prototype was initially made to understand the whole idea and present it to prospective investors. The site is formatted like a blog to save time and keep it simple

The site was created using Wordpress as a CMS in a very short time. Some new features were added in like quicktime players and 2 column post (Tugbucket). Purpose built in a short time, the site served its purpose, but was more of a Blog layout and approach.

We started with the Identity Design for the company. Once the logo was set, we moved on to design the whole thing keeping in mind that it may need to be ported on to a CMS.

However, Career Mantra used the static pages for sometime before switching to something else. The present site looks a lot different from this one.

Whitepapers display, writeups and downloads area. The area was created to cater specifically to a distribution and broadcast need complete with PDF download options.

Bytedge homepage - This page was kept devoid of all color so that a single process chart can get highlighted.

The Blog page layout was very similar to the whitepaper and downloads section.

Process

Initially an idea of our virtual space was drawn out on paper. What type of buildings, how much shadow, what type of bridges and vehicles are we going to accommodate, how many types of trees etc. Once this ‘master-plan’ was ready, we moved on to the next stage of actually creating the space on the system. Options were limited as we could only use 45° angles and straight lines. The whole layout was then created as a High Resolution image that was later reduced in size.

The street view. Each part is created from tiny 16x16 pixel square images. This did restrict most things to 90 and 45 degrees.

The reduced image was then traced out pixel by pixel in limited colors to have a repeat of elements in a 16×16 format. This meant that the rooftop ACs, the trees, the slanted roofs, and all other suck components were to repeat exactly after 16 Pixels. Delivery To demonstrate that the ideal and the tessellated images work, we created HTML pages that used the exact PNG files and showed a composite landscape spreading across a full screen.

One of the most enjoyable projects ever done.

Vehicles used in the project are from stock CDs retextured to show the comparative scale of the structure. No weathering were done to the textures, things were kept new.

Five people pooling their heads in from five locations over the internet, uploading and downloading updates over the net.

Step 1 We identified a format to carry out the project.

Step 2 To ensure that everyone’s thinking the same, a PPT file was employed and shared.

Step 3 The 3D work was done next and optimized to finish in time.

Step 4 The final render and edit were done based on feedback on trial files to save time. Final file was delivered over the internet in 720p Format.

The process involved making a digital replica of the vehicle. Splitting its components to form a Robot. Rigging the Robot for animation and then animating it to the dance moves. However, we failed to secure a motion capture data for the dance sequence and later it was traced out manually from 2 angle shots of the choreographer himself.

Concept to delivery time of less than 4 days.

A 3D version of the whole thing created and then lit up to create the magical feel. Concept to delivery of less than 3 days.

Imran as the Salesman

The thief. Colors seen are forced over the film to create different feel for different parts of the story.

Things kept short and sweet look good, this was Imran’s first attempt at directing a film all by himself… When in Melbourne, and you have a Camera at your disposal, do what Imran did.. We just helped him finish it up. Cheers Imran !!

The film was shot on DV in widescreen format. We took it from there, edited it and cleaned up the audio. Post this a full color correction and touchup was done to the whole video as well.

All actors in the film doubled up as some technician or the other except the cameraman. Imran himself plays the Salesman. The Film is shot in and around Melbourne over a couple of days.

The computer monitor complains about the death of the printer recently.

Both characters listen intently as Lord Krishna speaks.

Monitor, still not really convinced with the idea even after divine assurance.

Simple animated TVC, Low-Budget, we tried to give out best within the budget. Two films were made. The concept was provided by the agency and we just topped it up a little to look good.

Both the 30 second clips were done within a span of 14 days. Involving talking cups and saucers, was a fun idea to begin with.

We gave some Post-Production support for a good cause. The film was made by Interference Techniques for participation in competitions.

What we did is simple. Since it would be prohibitively expensive to have the monkeys on billboards across the city, it was needed that some people like us did the cleanup of removing the actual billboard contents and replacing them with the three monkeys. See no Evil, Hear no Evil, Speak no Evil.

It’s a very serious ad for Global Hospitals, Hydeerabad. The film was being created by Ramakanth Advertising, Hyderabad. The first samples that we sent were deemed to realistic to be in an advertisement and were asked to be toned down to make them mode of a model than actual organs. We were just happy to play Hollow Man.

Maths is a guy who is going thru this Alone thing …so alone that the visualisation needed to remove even the camera from the set ….duh !!!!! Except for the haaaaannnnnnd. Watch out for that horribble finger creature. Keeps popping from all kinda nooks and cranies. The hands main aim is to “finger” Math into coming out of his Alone thing… whatever that maybe.

On a serious note

Math’s apartment, 2 Fish in 3 parts and another one are 3 sides to the same story. One from the Fish’s point of view, the other from the owner’s point of view and the 3rd from the lucky cat’s point of view. Someday we will finish this set.

First experiments with channel IDs and news room graphics

The initial part of the project were completed including Sets and Characters but later the project was dropped. The story-line was provided by the agency.

… but i guess the guy who did the voice over needed more work on him during the evolution process. While on the subject of evolution, the viewer needs to understand the story line clearly. MAN dies … FISH remain … whether some of the human traits (like speaking to the camera) were transferred during this process is not known. It is best left to the imagination. Imagine Chris and Veto talking their way in the water world …that too like Neville does.

The result was a fast paced film managing to convey exactly what the company desired.

The shot was a visualization of a dream sequence, of a person stuck in between two worlds of life and death and his journey through it. Sketches to print it was a hectic process.

We gave them a proposal and animated small sequences to give and idea of the things to come. Story boards were created for the complete songs. The project never took off as it lacked a buyer from the producer’s side.

Initial storyboards were created on paper, later transfered into a shape of an Audio Board running along the actual song sequences. We never really went till the final Storyboard stage with the project.

Executed in a flat time of 96 hours of which all hours we were working.

Thinker achieves nirvana in a sense.
